When Livingston boss, Roberto Landi, logged into the club website yesterday he didn’t expect to discover he had got the sack. Landi, who only came to Livingston in July, had previously coached under-21s teams for Lithuania, Qatar and Georgia. Livingston now sit in 5th place in SFL First Division and hope to have a now manager in place before Saturdays fixture against Dundee

Cristiano Ronaldo was last night crowned the 2008 winner of the prestigious Ballon d’Or trophy by ninety six journalists on the French Ballon D’Or panel. In the past season he has scored fourty two goals in all competitions and with Manchester United he lifted the UEFA Champions League and the English Premier League titles. The Runner up prize was awarded to Barcelona ace Lionel Messi and Spaniard Fernando Torres was given the bronze medal.
